KILL I can say the same about most of the 80s thrash you listen to that sounds identical to each other. Do you like any newer thrash or prog bands or you gonna keep leading the death to faux movement?

Kill just face it youre old and unhip now.
Dem Hammer has death metal in em and Toxik has some prog in em. Notice I said "most 80s thrash" as the vast majority of it sounds exactly alike eachother. Ill ask again do you actually like any thrash thats been made recently or you stuck in 1988?

of course thrash bands are similar they all thrash and party hard i'm guessing youre a fag who says all death metal sounds the same too? not enough cleanz or dweedles i mean just stick to this shit bro obviously you are too gay for real thrash
and that depends of course i love albums like endgame and the evolution of chaos because they are awesome bands staying true to themselves and i do like some revival thrash bands such as vektor and violator, but albums like this, bfmv and trivium are false faggot bands who dont deserve the name thrash anywhere near their asses

Well yea alot of death metal does sound the same. There isnt much space for a genre to sound different when there's no melody in the music or vocals and everything is about being as brutal and fast as possible. Death metal peaked in the 90s and hasnt produced anything interesting in a long time. But whenever there is something a little different all the "true death metalers" shit on it. Same with thrash. Nobody can win apparently. Even thrash bands will tell you there was nowhere else for the genre to go by the 90s. They were out of ideas. It had its 5 year run and thats about it.
IDK I guess I look for stuff that sounds a little different in my music and Sylosis does put a slightly newer spin on thrash. 80s thash is great but IDK how somebody can listen to more than 20 or so bands from it without just hearing the same band over and over. But thrash on brotha.

other people who like this stop dissing old thrash, it's dumb to do so cause there were loads of amazing bands, better than Sylosis who aren't even really thrash so don't go slamming something that's not even that relevant.

"Death metal peaked in the 90s and hasnt produced anything interesting in a long time."

Yeh, that is a pretty fucked up statement

Plus you cant put this band in the same sentence as Bullet and Trivium. They are much better.
BTW Vektor and Havok seem cool to me out of the revivals. Evile too but Im guessing you hate them also.

what bands have you heard yankee? i can understand if you just listen to sacreid reich and evildead and get bored but theres actually a lot of variation in thrash, bands like coroner, anacrusis, voivod, believer and more bro but i'm sure you'd rather stay ignorant and thrash on to sylosis and as i lay dying

You're really going to tell me death metal is better now than it was in the 90s? Give me some albums that have really made a dent in the genre then.

I listen to a shitload of dm and thrash, both modern and old, and it rarely if ever gets monotonous. In fact the only bands that are monotonous in those genres are the shitty ones really (Defeated Sanity springs instantly to mind).

yankee you should definitley try anacrusis. they're quite progish, so not a whole world away from this. i like their screams and whispers album best but manic impressions gets the most love from others so try stuff from those

Cool. I already have Voivod so Ill give Anacrusis a shot. Im always looking for bands who sound a little different is all Im basically getting at. Even if a thrash band does the regular thrash sound great it just bores me now since Ive heard it so many times. I guess this is why I listen to almost many different genres/subgenres of music because I get bored easily of the same sounds. Im a jack of all trades master of none kinda guy I guess.
Bands like Heathen put a good spin on thrash to me. SOD is nice for some crossover. I mean a band like Meshuggah has some thrash elements but they are so much more than that. I guess Im just looking for progression somehow. Sylosis isnt breaking boundaries or anything but I think they really do the modern thrash thing well without sounding like a complete ripoff.

Carnal Forge, bitches. That band is good modern thrash. And not gay at all. BTW Kill, you're a silly specimen. Even Metallica uses cleans a lot, in fact all of their vocals are clean from the technical standpoint and I don't see a lot of people calling them gay.
