This album is clearly a celebration of Indigenous culture and I doubt anyone would ever be offended by the initial title, but now that it's properly put into context for me, I suppose it isn't as I originally thought. I concede I don't know much about the history of indigenous peoples.

I can understand why you'd feel that way Dettlaff. If anything, part of the issue with the term *is* that it isn't offensive/seen as such by many people. It's certianly not as bad as the n-word but as I said before it's still one rooted in racism and European hegemony.

Doesn't help that back when I worked for a DVD store at my local mall two of the managers who trained us told us to check for "Indian status cards," to give them a discount on all store products. So I guess I've just been going through most of my life thinking it was normal.
