Single best moment of the song is the guitar at around 1:30 in the title track.

PUSHING ME AWAYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Opener is equally golden, will wait to see if it grows on me before rating.

I still maintain that the guitar-work on this album is completely under-rated full stop. It's easy enough to get caught up in the catchy vocal melodies & sometimes totally forget about them. But no matter whether they go for a heavy song or an accessible song, the guitars always do their job and more.

I thought I had to give up on Emery after I'm only a man album but this album was amazing. glad to see the review agrees, and props on a great review.

The Poor and the Prevalent, is probably the greatest thing these ears have ever heard.

The guitar work is amazing on this album and I completely agree it is under-rated. The fact that they made up for the worst album they made gives me even more respect for them.

Thanks OhDarn. Glad you liked it & gave Emery another chance.

Libson, I once thought that was the least effective song on the album. It's grown on me a fair bit since then, but it's still not in the top half. That's not a knock on such a deep album though.

Thanks for agreeing on the guitar-work Legend of Pittman. And what is that phrase; It's not what you achieve, it's what you overcome.

So this is continuing to grow on me. It's weird that it took for me so long to get into this, considering that Emery has been one of my favorite bands for like 5 years.

Davey, I think you should give The Question some more listens. It might grow on you like this did on me.

Matte, that is weird that it took a while to grow on you. It did for me too, but it was also immediate. With 'The Question', I have heard it heaps & heaps of time over multiple years. I still get the feeling that album just hit people personally more than others... Especially the lyrics.

5 it bloc... 5 it LG... 5 it LoP... Why didn't you all just listen to me in the first place. LOL. Nah, admittedly this was a 4.5 for me for a few months also.

This album confuses me. I feel 4.5 some days and 2.5 others.

You're just way to easily confused Super Grover.

It's catchy, enjoyable, and never gets old. Definitely 5 material. Just don't know if it's worth the energy to change my rating.
