I don't know; I still prefer Merriweather Post Pavillion because it's production just blows my mind. It seemed really fresh when it came out, and Fall Be Kind, which could possibly be a bit better material wise, seems to re-use the same techniques.

i certainly wouldnt say this 'recycles' much, either within the context of this + merriweather or within just this album. this seems a little more 'progressive' imo than merriweather (especially the first two songs and 'i think i can') and, to me, a little less homogeneous. merriweather is an excellent pop album, but sometimes it gets a little bit tired, whereas this i have yet to get tired of. the only two songs that really sound similar at all are the last two, and that's just the general 'mood' they set (what with the kind of hazy background and the 'tribal' (ugh) drums).

and 'what would i want? sky' is like better than anything ever.

the production on this is also a little more interesting imo, a lot of it is very 'hazy' (like the end of 'daily routine' only a little darker usually) and i like that side of them; it shows a cool kind of ambient influence, i guess? mostly with stuff like 'bleed'.
