The Becoming, A Warm Place, and Hurt are soooo good. Whole album is meant to be enjoyed in one sitting though.

The Downward Spiral is actually a cupcake in disguise. I have no idea why, it just is.

Common people. This is classic and deserves a 5. Just think how many people on this site alone this album has affected. Whether it got them into more extreme music or just gave insight into a certain genre of music that they would normally never listen to.

People that think The Fragile is better than this are nuts. They must not be listening very closely. This is more ballsy, infinitely deeper, far more nuanced, and filters Trent's artistic influences (judging by the movies/music he likes) flawlessly.

Also, I think listening to this as a teenager really messes up your view of it.

Agreed eternium.

And both albums are completely different. I mean I love both of them, but it's not exactly fair to judge one against the other. They both set out to do different things.

And definitely get this. It's classic 90's music I think everyone should have.

Was re-listening to this last night, god damn it's so consistent. When I picked it up again I started loving tracks like The Becoming and Ruiner that I had hated before, like I started to "understand" them. It's an easy 5, for sure.

Hurt man, fucking Hurt. Might be the greatest ending ever but it competes with Jane Doe all around.
