Yup it's true. I haven't heard anything off them. I've been a very small fan of In Flames since I bought Soundtrack To Your Escape when it came out, but never really got into them except I did buy Come Clarity when it came out and fell in love with that album it's almost a 5 for me to this day. Now lately I don't know what happened but I can't stop listening to In Flames. I'm addicted and so far this week I've discovered that I love Jester Race, Reroute to Remain, and I really enjoy Sounds of A Playground Fading and some of Siren Charms.
But umm, A Sense of Purpose wasn't very good....

Good.

It's hard for me to understand how they sold out when in my country no one right now gives a fuck about In Flames in the United States and they never have, plus the kind of music they make has never been best selling. They're an international band to me so I realize my perception may not be solid on this, but in the United States the top three selling In Flames albums are Colony, Come Clarity, and Reroute to Remain.
Soundtrack to your Escape barely sold ten thousand copies in the states. Jester Race sold 1,000 more copies than STYE. Not exactly screaming headlines of sell out caliber like a band called Muse? More like regular metal band sells decent amount of records over long and varied career.

I came back two years ago, but then was banned for a few months came back and then was banned for eight months. I can not stop listening to In Flames. It's almost a problem.
It would be nice if someone could actually provide a legitimate argument to what I said other than "They switched styles how dare they!!!" 20 years in a band I would switch styles a few times and what i did when I was younger I may not be able to do when I'm older (Death growls, playing the same cheesy guitar lines)

To me they are not as good as they were a few years ago, thats all. Don't know if they sold out but I don't enjoy their last albums as much as I did for their first (as u said they've switched styles a few times).
My 4 fav from them (no particular order) : clayman, colony, reroute and whoracle : 4 stars !!!
Come clarity and soundtrack TYE are great too.
A sense of purpose is shitty, sounds of a PGF, lunar strain and jester race are good but it's not the same kind of music (last two are truly melodic death metal).
I didn't bother to listen to Siren charms and I won't.
