i actually used to have this at a 4, but it really hasn't been hitting me much the last few times i've listened to it. i'll give it a really deep listen on a winter night, and my rating might change then

This album was not only a catharsis for the band members, but for me as well. I was getting bored/tired of my music taste. It was not until I picked up this album that it opened a door for me to abstract music. And I still go back to this album for inspiration. In short, Kid A is life.

Good, now listen to some Red Krayola or Can for actually abstract music

A lot of EAI seems about as abstract as it can get for me

i tried to listen Good Morning Good Night once and was the worst and most pointless thing i've heard it was just very high frequency for 40 mins if that's what eai is it's pretty much the worst genre

@Nimb you might want to listen to 4'33'' then, i believe it's even more shattering.

Noise such as this has been done before, by Reed in 1975 and by modern classicists even earlier. If music is abstract but derivative then it's hardly better than "normal" music at all. But listen to what you like.

i was thinking to check Supersilent - 1-3 which is the highest rated EAI on rym, but then i saw it's 4 hours long nobody have that much time for this shit

You know, 4'33'' was unique and original and that makes it a wonderful piece, but endlessly composing more similar simple noise music is like composing another 5'44'', 3'22'', 15'11'' etc. What's the point
