Thanks. I think my rating was a bit harsh, but the flamboyantness sounded very grating when i listened to this(which is ironic, because i really enjoy of montreal). I'll probably listen to it again, when I'm in a poppy mood..................heh i almost spelled poopy.

I like Johnny Cash's voice but I don't enjoy Freddie's voice really. I like Spencer Krug's voice but I don't like M Shadow's voice. does this mean just because I have these tastes I should call these people greater or lesser? I don't know if it's fair to use someone's singing ability as a measure of their greatness (I'm guessing you mean range?), charisma is super ambiguous and different to everyone, and songwriting skills are questionable because not everyone likes the same songs. for some crazy range see Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. he's a monster. (my point is really I just don't think it's fair to speak in greatest and greater's, only likes and favorites because otherwise you get beyond the aesthetics and into educated marmugarmable that is contrived)

but if they were really gifted wouldn't they do pleasant not annoying things? if you don't like what Yngwie's doing I wouldn't sing his praises as a musician. he practiced a lot to get good at guitar, nice!

Well, not exactly. Yngwie, musically, is extremely talented and he has obviously putten hard work into his scales and whatnot. But his music isn't tasteful. It's more of a contest, than something to enjoy. It's not the talent, it's how you present the talent.

Wouldn't go that far. They're better than fun. and were extremely talented but pretty much wasted most of it with nonsense
umm...how much queen have you listened to? have you listened to Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, A Day At The Races, News of the World, Jazz etc?
because they're all 4 or above easily.
