It's really hard to figure out what the highlight of the album is without considering basically every part of the album. Just so insanely good

Highlight is that riff in From Scythe To Sceptre

[2] objectively accurate. It's what I think of when I think of this album, and the sub-par vocals of course.

vocals have always been the worst thing about this band, thats nothing new. numerous listeners and critics admit this. Guy growls in one tone and... nothing else.

I've noticed this about outstanding albums - everyone readily sees and admits their flaws, but despite them they're still like 4.2 or so. No one seems to have this way of thinking for 3.6 albums. They're just "good I guess" or "cool" or "meh", with no obvious flaw to be pointed out. What makes songs great are very often just moments

For sure. For me, the music makes up for the vocals in this case. There is some really excellent songwriting from this band, especially on Vessels, and while I really don't enjoy the vocals as much as similar bands, I still listen to it often. Everything has flaws if you look hard enough.

This has been one of the most baffling things I've encountered on the internet and I've been seeing it for almost a decade at this point.
How exactly are his vocals bad? His growl is powerful and evocative, very dynamic in his delivery and even has a subtle emotion that you don't really get from fucking GROWLING.
It goes perfectly with the music too.

it goes with the music, i agree. But I guess i think that because im so used to the guy doing it over the band's music. Its just very dull and monotone, so your positives about it are something i dont hear at all. powerful and dynamic? nah.

Yeah the vocals on this are amazing

It's also amazing that Vessels is now a 4.2 as well
