Which is assists my point in that A7X sucked mass amounts of dick whenver they tried being anything other than GnR 2.0.

oh god no. they were at least tolerable on Waking the Fallen, now they just sound like ginormous
faggots. I'll take generic screams over horrible singing any day.

Thank God I don't think my opinion is the only one that matters then.

Chapter 4 is their best song, but City of Evil will always be best. The self-titled sucked ass but City had The Wicked End and Sidewinder.

WtF always kind of bored me with its bare-bones production... none of the songs ever really had any punch. City of Evil is still solid and s/t is just garbage.

I can't listen to city of evil without cringing. the vocals/lyrics are just awful. I agree with you on Chapter Four though. I hate Sidewinder.

Sidewinder does have a catchy riff to it, but the acoustic part at the end kind of comes out of left field.

Melissa: what's up with you kissing Taylor's ass? JK ;-) . i didn't neg the review for the bad grammar. i negged it because he did a horrible job of backing up his points. obviously he's entitled to his opinion, but when your opinion differs from the majority so radically (rating it a 2 vs. the 3.8 average user rating), your review had better defend your postion pretty damn well. and this one doesn't.
I know a lot more about this genre of music and what makes it good then anyone who's given this a positive rating.
pretentious and outright arrogant statements like this are your problem, Taylor. get over yourself and consider that maybe you aren't inherently right about everything.

Well they've never been a great band, but I still think songwriting wise they're more suited to writing hard rock/metal than they were at their poor attempts at metalcore.

If anyone here can be called an "authority" on metalcore, it's RedA. Listen to him.
Suck my balls.

I'm not kissing anyone's ass, i'm just saying the verbal pissing contest that's going on here is acheiving nothing. Nothing against either of you, but how about you both drop it. It's essentially wasting space.

Taylor: Yes, but look what happened with the self titled album. You can't say that was a good effort.

wtf, reason?! your reason is no good here.

I love it when people make presumptive statements about other people's presumptive statements.

Yeah but IMO that album sucked for very different reasons, those being that someone thought it was a good idea for a band who's best work came from being instrumental wankers should tone it down, someone told the late Rev. he should sing more, Shadows became "a lil bit country" and then there was the horrible "experimentation". If they'd just made City Pt 2 I'd have been happy.

Well, now their drummer is dead. Come onnnnn Ride the Lightning.

I'd like to see where they go with this next one, how long we have to wait for it is a different story though.

They only really have 2 options, either continue with a more overly produced and ambitious record and adding more orchestra elements and such or stripping down more to the bare basics of a rock band. I hope for the latter.

3rd option, disband because friend died.

Maybe the band will befall another tragedy and M. Shadows will get punched directly in the throat, as he deserves, miraculously fixing his voice.
