while the other tmv albums are more or less an assault on the senses, this is where cedric steals the show and actually made me realize how great a vocalist he really is. that's how i look at this record.
considering upping to a 4.5

Saw these guys for the first time on Wednesday in Pontiac. One of the best shows I've ever been to. They played for almost two hours and just tore it up. It was a ridiculously tiny venue too, so that just made it better for me. They played some old stuff, like Inertiatic ESP and Eunuch Provocateur.
Almost got backstage passes, they put us on the guest list and everything, but they claimed they had to cancel the list cause of poor ticket sales. I really think it was just cause one of the guys I was with was creeping them out.
Still, awesome concert. It was definitely worth the money after the jam they did in the middle of Goliath, and that was just the second song they played.

Agree with Chambered 89 - they've definitely grown off of me these past couple years/albums,
They sound like a band I need to see LIVE.

If you get a chance to see them live DO IT. I saw them last week and it gave me a new found appreciation for this record.

Yeah definitely. After that show, I've been on a serious Volta kick. They just bring a ton of energy.

Was hoping that I would be blown away by this album after hearing the buildup in the first track.

The intro to Desperate Graves reminds me of the intro to Rid the Disease by opeth. In fact they sound similar note for note.
