Themata for me really died off towards the end until change came.

No where near to be honest. This carries none of the emotional weight of Themata.
Disagree with that on so many levels, New Day and Goliath are two that come to mind. Although COTE is still the most emotion packed song they've written, as a whole Sound Awake pips Themata.
And for the record, Sound Awake > Universes = Themata > Day One
Agree with Dougie, the back end of Themata does die off a fair bit compared to the start.

Still better than the majority of this album. The last two songs here kick enormous amounts of arse, but alot of the songs on this album just aren't up to scratch. New Day is overlong, Umbra is just shit, Caudal Lure is fairly boring. Illumine is just ordinary.

It's just hideously, hideously boring. Kenny's vocals are pretty shit and hold no emotion whatsoever. They're too high, even for him and they come across watery and without power. The lyrics aren't as good as usual, and the chorus isn't even slightly engaging. Just the whole deal is dreadful.

Nope, Karnivool's worst song is Box. It's like everything that was shit about Nu-Metal rolled into one song. Hence why the band deny it ever existing.

After one listen, I have no idea what I will be rating this. I'll trust Billy & let it grow on me first before even thinking about it.
