Emotion really isn't important on this record, there's too much to focus on as is.

The vocoder is excellent; makes the vocals really interesting.

Okay, putting the lack of emotion debate aside; the vocader makes him sound the same throughout every song. It sounds SO well produced that it just seems too contrived. Very manufactured.

He's doing things differently as a metal vocalist; and I can totally appreciate that.

And take his vocals in, say, The Space for This, and then take them in King of Those Who Know; I'd say they are fairly different. He certainly doesn't lack in depth or vocal strength.

Why then does he use a vocader? I mean, sure at first I think it sounds a little bit cool. Too much of a good thing? I think it would be better to perhaps use it the odd time and sing normally for the majority of the record. And yeah, there is a different between The Space for This and King of Those Who Know, but as you said 'fairly' different. I keep this as a 3 because I appreciate its value and contribution to its genre, but I don't really get the huge fuss.

I hold it as a 4.5 because it's a record I enjoy start to finish and I find very little to fault it overall. This is exactly the kind of metal I like the most.

It's so hard for me to say... At times I absolutely love certain tracks on this, and other days I just can't stand it. It's hard to rate, but due to my odd, constantly changing opinion of it, a 3 is the best spot for it. I wish I wrote a better review for this. Maybe I should re-write it?

I'm pretty sure everyone's favourite albums have no faults and are enjoyable in their entirety

Ehh, hell is overrated, especially on a laughs-per-minute basis. Purgatory is where its at for the funny stuff.
