im excited for the spencer song. cove im a lil wary of since the dudes voice is not good now but jesse's basically perfected cove's vocal style so his song will at least scratch that itch if the cove song doesnt land for me lol. the donovan song should be cool too

the first single was by far the best. i absolutely hate nightmare with the dude from ice nine kills, the new modsun track is inoffensively fine
i finally checked some dead american stuff and it's solid for what it is, cove's voice sounds a bit strained now

i couldnt get into the dead american album at all and i reallly tried. i even fucked w the 2nd saosin album that nobody liked in my peak of being into saosin (granted that album hasnt held up terribly well but its still decent) so i rlly wanted to meet the dude halfway but it gave me very little to work with

man i just listened to most of the new album..... i'm trying so hard not to say a bunch of mean stuff lol
sadly the song with cove is the most boring ballad ever, and the one with spencer was almost tolerable but god i couldn't help but roll my eyes when he decides to scream "fucking". dude is such a try-hard now

screaming FUCK on his mic is his schtick now and a huge part of his personality and what makes him the best front man and just a great dude to be around with
hardly a try-hard

reallllly wish i liked the jesse song more damn. its fine ig but its bland as hell instrumentally and his melody is nothing crazy he can do way better. the spencer one was kinda garbo some sleepwave bs, and the cove one, while he sounds better than the whole dead american album, his melody is mad boring. the donovan one was pretty good tho

i gave it a proper spin earlier, and i agree with all that onionbubs. While nothing special I think the jesse song is solid as hell, and i'm really not familiar with much of donovans work but I think it's by far my favorite. he gives a passionate performance and it's something i could've seen tyson singing

Knock It All Down still rules but this has been pretty meh so far unfortunately. Noah sounded great on his song and the chorus to it was good, but the song overall was pretty in one ear out the other. Guess I'll see how the 6-9 stretch is

Knock it All Down, I Wanna Know, and Black Hole are the highlights for me. some of the others aren't bad just not really my thing.
At best its really below average as a whole, and doesn't really feel like SKSK to me. I still wish they would've just picked a singer and made a true follow up album to this in the vein of "loved forever". I guess there is still a chance they do that, but I'd be skeptical of it being good.

I'll say the quiet part out loud, the singer was the only memorable thing about this band

I honestly can't argue much with that. I mean I thought their keyboardist and lead guitarist did some interesting stuff that made them stand out at times, but it wasn't anything groundbreaking.
the singer was without a doubt their strongest asset, and what got me into them. probably mostly nostalgia talking at this point, but i'd still consider him one of my favorites
