this was my favorite Thursday album in high school (their discog only went up to A CITY BY THE LIGHT DIVIDED at that point).

it is still the best Thursday album.

in fact i might like it better now than i did in high school.

would switch city and waiting, but can understand that being a tough sell

i can understand putting waiting higher for sure as i think its more consistent. city gets some bonus nostalgia points since i loved it whenever i first heard it at 14, but i skip like half the album now as a lot of it has aged really badly. still love tf outta autumn leaves tho and its got some other big highlights for me that give it the sliiight edge

sugar in the sacrament is one of thursdays best songs. the demos for city are also really good

i'd go no dev > this > common > city > watt > waiting

that said I do think Geoff vocals really improved after this album, and I prefer the production style used on everything after watt and think it really helped expand their sound

I’ve kinda found him to be the weakest link as the vocalist but he’s not bad or anything. He works better on stuff like ND.

i can agree to an extent mongi. I love his harsh vocals (especially in united nations) and mostly love his cleans but sometimes on full collapse & watt they are slightly grating/off putting on certain songs. Like I think he sounds perfect on 'car crash', but kinda spotty on 'winding up'

felt like he settled into his comfort zone better as time went on

his voice improved, but this band would never have been anything without the strain and passion in his performance

not to mention his lyrics
