Haha, no kidding. And then there's the bassist pitching in.

The bassist could jack off on stage and nobody would notice a difference in their sound.

QUAD CHUG....sounds like this would be perfect for a house full of broz to pop on and have a gay orgy to.

Having three guitarists can be a good idea... generally. Some subgenres like melodeath focus heavily on guitar. Albums like The Jester Race often feature two lead parts and one rhythm part, but In Flames has only ever had two guitarists at a time. So it might have been good for them to have another one.

For deathcore, it's not such a good idea. Yeah, these guys DO have a few bits where all three guitarists do different things, but it's nothing that couldn't be done with a harmonization pedal or something similar. So, yeah, I think they could just stick with two. Other than that, this isn't a bad group. They actually do use a lot of techniques that a lot of deathcore bands don't.

People who claim them doing the same thing is a waste don't seem to know a lot about music. Bands often double track riffs to give them more power. But can't do that live.

Look at it this way, this band doesn't have to do that.

And did any of you question how their breakdown riffs sounded so dissonant? Two guitars playing notes together. Then you'll usually hear the third guitarist playing a lead riff, etc.

It isn't a waste. it's nifty.

Orrrrr, they could just have one rhythm guitar with two amplifiers.
Problem solved.

whitechapel is alright. run of the mill deathcore. this is exile had three, maybe four good songs on it. the rest you can't even tell the songs apart. this band is 90% hype. and i agree with foreverendeared, why do they need three guitarists. three dudes chugging open chords doesn't do it for me. sorry.

Oops, guess I couldn't take that back fast enough.

Look, I'm just saying I'm not sure that would actually work. If you know it would have the same effect, that's great, but I'm not sure it would accomplish the dual note effect they also do.
