DT are the least.

Yeah, DT was most technical of 'em. And the Ryche was arguably the most songwriting-oriented.

It doesnt sound like Mindcrime or Metropolis to me. It's more clinical in nature, but they found their organic stride in Alder's vocals.

Definetely Zonder is the shining point for me, on this album. He's simply fantastic.

Indeed. He is a very underappreciated drummer in and out of the prog and metal scenes. And this album certainly has plenty of differences from Metropolis and Mindcrime, though I seriously enjoy all three.

Of course he can. His high register sounded a lot like Tate's on his first few albums with Fates.

Indeed. Both Fates singers are awesome, but Alder shows off his lower registers at more places than Arch does. It's too bad that's all he sings from today though.

Zonder alone makes this better than No Exit.

Which is my favorite Fates song. "Nothing Left to Say" comes in second, but I think this is slightly more consistent.

Zonder shouldn't have left.

I thought the same thing before their latest album came out. Their new drummer is pretty damn good.

Jarzombek's technical ability is incredible, but Zonder had a bit more rhythm and groove. Having said that Jarzombek's a beast, and I do think he has held back on this album. Hopefully he'll be given more freedom on the next album (and hopefully that won't take another 9 years).
