ratings depend on who is rating them. i dont put much weight on them to be honest.

Also I'm starting to think Coke doesn't particularly care for kattunlover69.

Was there really tracks not included on the album?

The album surprised me. It's clearly better than Kezia in almost every way, but there's some nagging annoyances throughout. The album can get a bit repetitive at times with the constant double-bass breakdown BS, and in general they rely heavily on the Standard Bag Of Metal Tricks. The drummer could've stepped it up a bit more too and learned a few new beats here and there but he does a good job most of the time. Arif's bass work is ridiculously awesome throughout, but nothing that grabbed & raped me like Wilhelm Scream's "The Horse". I like the quickfast time changes and the shred has been pumped to almost superhuman levels (good and bad). I like that it's heavier and that Rody can sing without making me cringe anymore, but it's not like a quantum leap forward IMO. My rating's a high 3.5-4 about now.

I think this will be a 4 for me and I agree with strizz PTH's songwriting can still be weak in places. They've gotten better but sometimes they still resort to breakdowns and tasteless shredding to take you from one theme to the next instead of a more natural transition. Don't get me wrong this is one of the most entertaining and fun albums I've heard in a while though.

Where are you hearing all of these breakdowns? And the "shred" isn't used to transition, you can clearly hear the rhythm guitars, bass and drums pushing it forward.

And Moe did step it up. Listen to him on the Dissentience.

I said nothing about the talent of the band, they are all excellent musicians. I guess breakdowns isn't technically right but more just some of the chugga-chugga riffs and shredding can get samey, I need to listen to the album more but I still think I'm gonna get the same feeling. None the less this is a great album and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

It does get better after more listens. I get what you're saying to a point, I just really don't think it's that samey. They have a signature sound they stick to but that's really not the same as being repetitive.

I haven't heard this yet (apart from the singles - I'm waiting to get it legit), but I'm curious as to how well Rody handles his expanded vocal range live (moving from clean to harsh and whatnot). Any idea, Cocaine?

I know it's a beast, but the review should shed some light on any questions.
