Is this their best? Sometimes I think so but I can never make up my mind.

it would be their best but, you know, Mezzanine exists.

Yeah, Mezzanine is excellent, agreed, but I find myself revisiting it way less than their first two *lately*.

Mezzanine is a bit of a cold fish and a bit too same-y.

This is way more enjoyable.

This album just hase these incredibly soft but super accurate and precise moments. Mezzanine is less subtle and quiet in that way. If that makes any sense, hard to explain. Plus this has a lot of personality and is very listenable too.

I have Mezz on a 4.5, close to a classic, but this is the one that takes me back

i know you actually think that doof, but thats so crazy to me. i think mezz is easily the most varied.

also some days protection grabs me more but this is the best vibes of all of em. eps are underrated too

Mezz has near literally the same atmosphere and mood the entire album

'Big Wheel', 'Be Thankful' and 'Unfinished' sound like their own beasts entirely on this - all they keep is a slight spliffed feel with the rest.

I have this and Protection at 4.5 and Mezzanine at 4.0, but all rule of course.

Oh seeing them live is so awesome! Have you already seen them SpaceMan?

Edit: Yeah Doof, that's exactly what I feel too, that brooding, dark, but chill atmosphere is everywhere on Mezzanine, whilst this and Protection are more diverse on the feels front.

I prefer mez for the focused cinematic atmosphere, moody and alluring. This is great though, has a more down to earth quality, perfect for a sunny afternoon chillout.

Omg that sounds amazing!! I've been lucky enough to see them twice and they rule so hard. Very intoxicating. But Liz wasn't there so I guess it's going to be even cooler now. Enjoy man!

I had a dream that I was listening to a live performance of Lately in a car, but that Massive Attack was playing it WAY too fast so the crowded started booing and someone angrily yelled out "PLAY IT SLOWER!" so they did and then people stopped booing
