Terrible production, absolutely horrible vocals, mostly pretentious lyrics, musically a complete mess and really uncomfortable to listen to.

Ok not liking it is fine as I've said before but that...just no  Musically it isn't a complete mess at all...its actually very coherent (even from a purely theoretical standpoint)...The production isn't all that bad to me either (better than Death Magnetic lolz)

The production is generally fantastic for the budget they undoubtedly had. This is pretty much just music AtavanHalen isn't used to/doesn't want to get used to so why bother really addressing his posts?
This isn't a matter of what I'm used to or what I don't want to get used to. At the end of the day, this isn't good music to my ears- and I do like hardcore/screamo/real emo bands.

I listened to a fair few of the bands that you reccomended me, and most of them I enjoyed a lot more than this album. I really do feel like you've built this album up to be far much more than it actually is.

So what was the real question?
I'm not really sure exactly how to phrase why I don't like this album. But I really just can't understand how so many people can connect with this on a truly musical basis. Lyrically, sure- I might think it's an awful lot of toss, but someone else may get something out of it. The way I see it, the band can't sing, have decidedly awful and abrasive screaming that doesn't work with the music and, in terms of instrumental skill, there really isn't much apart from the drummer playing at consistently fast speeds.This Message Edited On 10.01.08
