This album bends music over.

Anyone else think they could've gotten away with releasing "Prod" and/or "Under My Skin" as singles?

Under My Skin: Yes.
Prod: Nope.
This album is so good :].

I honestly can't imagine ever 5in this. "Dig" and "-1" are pretty much all I come back to.

Maybe I will revisit it sometime this year.

It's a great record, but I could do without the little interludes and Chad Grey's voice can get pretty grating after awhile

I think the interludes are great personally, especally the one after Nothing to Gein.

This is pretty much the only album that I know of that is a 1) a debut album 2) a fully realized concept album and 3) the pinnacle of the band and arguably the genre.
If there are any other albums that meet this criteria, I really want to hear them. It's kind of impossible that Mudvayne NOT go downhill after this.

Album Rating: 4.5
Mars Volta fits that criteria although I wouldn't call them the pinnacle of the genre. This is definitely the pinnacle of "nu-metal", though I don't want to call it that

Album Rating: 4.0
It is though. It's just really good nu-metal. But, I'm one of those guys that defends nu-metal as not being entirely bull shit.
