I mean, I'm not taking a dump on this at all. This is not as bad as the avg says, but comparing it to arguably the best album of one of the most influential bands in the tdm realm is a wild take, this is good though

This is literally the next album to come out from that band. To claim that its a complete nose-dive in terms of quality is actually a more extreme take imo

The trebly/bassless production on this made me angry. There are clearly great songs on this album that I would prefer to sound mightier and crushing akin to other Nile albums. Feeling kind of blue balled here.

Hear me out. I found remaster of this on youtube by "Slim Rodriguez". I don't know if it's better or is it placebo, but my perception of this album changed dramatically for the better.
