It just astounds me how much Matt's vocal quality changes from album to album. Probably one of the most inconsistent rock/metal singers out there... in fact, I'll do a quick tier list of his vocal performances:

A - Waking the Fallen, Nightmare

B - S/T, Hail to the King

C - Sounding the Seventh Trumpet

D - City of Evil

F - The Stage

So yeah, he pretty much runs the entire gamut, lol

nahhh he sounds bad in that washed out interlude but the verses and choruses he sounds like Nightmare era Shadows for the most part.

y'all getting me to jam this again and honestly matt sounds marginally less bad than i remembered lol. isnt really hindering my enjoyment of any of these songs that much (minus the ending of blinded in chains that was awwwful lmao. only like halfway through tho so theres plenty more to go)

aight nvm he started mad wearing on me once all the long songs started hitting, esp on strength of the world and mia. also cramming a bunch of giant epics right at the end of an album is pretty bad fuckin pacing and made it a slog to get to the end. at least betrayed is thrown in there to alleviate that a bit

sidewinder still their best tho

His nasality fit well on WtF and partly here, then in became a liability.

This used to be my favourite back in the days. I Don't dare to listen to this anymore because I know the vocals are so damn weak and pretentious. Let the good memories stay as good memories.
