I've known a handful of millennials that really love Gorguts, but idk how the DM old guard feel. I've only ever spoken to people like that in passing for the most part. I have very few friends approaching 40s and 50s or whatever. I think of them as one of the most consistently innovative and inspired bands in the genre though. They've transfixed me since I was 16 or so and never let go. They play with structure and harmony like nobody else and deserve respect from everyone.
In a just world, they'd be headlining that tour with CC.

Agreed, I can't imagine that anyone would like, HATE it. Gorguts still have headbangable parts pretty consistently, but still do that dark atmosphere enough to really touch you. It'll be a wild crowd though. If anything, Mayhem are the biggest outlier. Who KNOWS what kinda riff raff they'll pull in lmao
