Well, in contrast to other prog metal and death metal releases coming out around the same time, it just feels disjointed and bland by comparison with only a few sections that I would honestly call great, which makes a lot of the claims saying this was originally meant to be a Control Denied album make sense. Really think Chuck was writing beyond his own abilities at the time and I believe that if he had lived on and actually improved on his own style that this would simply be viewed as a transitional footnote in his oeuvre and nothing more.
