Started listening to Anberlin before 'Cities' dropped. Also bumped them in a playlist last week. Still the jams.

Incredible that even after abandoning religion altogether *fin still hasn't lost it's magic for me. Definitely in my top 5 songs of all time.

i don't even have this 5'd anymore and that's really sad.

i would bet i'd appreciate dark is the way since I haven't listened to it since it came out and I overplayed all of these other albums and apparently have "outgrown" them.

if not then I just don't like Anberlin

Damn that's quite sad. I'm struggling with this album in particular due to the religious undertones and all. The album meant a hell lot more before I deconverted but I think the nostalgia of jamming this in what was a coming of age time for me will always make this a favorite. My music tastes have changed A LOT since 2007 but I will always love Anberlin.

Good album, but Vitals and Never Take Friendship Personal are both better records

That's shocking, considering how strong it is front to back. New surrender and Dark is a way were both so up and down. Couldn't stand the end of new surrender in particular.

New Surrender is probably my second fav behind this. For me Friendship is probably their weakest aside from the debut.

That album felt much too poppy for me. Haight Street is a solid jam though.
