oh fuck yeah, P1 still slaps in a major way - although i wouldnt be mad if they ever went back and re-recorded the vocals. dont mind them at all but Spencer improved SO much from P1 to P2.

Periphery has been a major influence on my guitar playing. have my Misha signature Jackson sitting right next me

Misha is also a legend.

I've said that many times as well. Spencer has come a long way.

absolutely. folks may or may not like his voice/delivery but there is no arguing the guy is talented. i love in Satellite where he achieves that sort of Chester Bennington thing where he produces a sung note and a scream simultaneously, insanity

Folks may or may not like the fact that they're one of the most important and influential acts in metal today, but they are. Misha has done a ton for the genre.

Agreed, Periphery 1 was definitely the first album on the progressive djent train. "The Walk" is in my permanent rotation.

But -- I'd put The Discovery right up there with P1 for genre-defining albums. Insanely good.

not denying that theyve been influential, but "defiinitely the first" is a huge overstatement and not true at all... textures, fellsilent, sikth were doing the djent-metalcore thing years before the first periphery album

August Burns Red, this band and Periphery are the father, son, Holy Spirit of ushering in the overproduced non-hc influenced metalcore era
