The saggy middle is the biggest issue and even the better early parts get completely blown away by National Anthem in comparison. I always loved that one but it kinda overshadows much of this now, damn

I remember when Pitchfork said 'The National Anthem' was one of the biggest sore thumbs ever found on a popular album - I kid you not.
I really like Optimistic/In Limbo these days...don't see them as weaker than 'Morning Bell' or the title track in particular.
