Some people never give up hope

Jamming this for the first time. The first track was great, but I’m on Marasm now and every track up to this point since then has been a disappointment. Not looking good unfortunately

lol

I mean the album is incredibly overrated yeah
|
| |
No kidding. They had potential but it’s squandered by all the superfluous build-up and boring eighth-note post-metal riffs. Just really not exciting at all, which is too bad because I really liked the opening track and the part about halfway through Marasm

Is that a general problem you have with post-metal Jester, or are you just a joker?
Need to revisit this, I've been waiting for the right moment.... well the right 70 minutes actually.

Post-metal is one of those subgenres where you either get something snooze-inducing or something awe-inspiring.

You get that in most genres, plus everything in-between. I don't think post-metal is 'special' in that regard.
|
| |
Post-metal is very hit or miss for me. I don’t mind the idea of fusing post-metal with metalcore and would actually like to hear it done in a more interesting way, but this just does not do it for me.

Agreed with Fire.
|

I also agree. There are only like three post-metal bands that have really captured my attention
|
| |
This album is incredible, agreed.
