i've always thought that hard to find was their weakest closer of their last 5 albums

I'd rank it above Gospel and probably Lucky You as well.

gospel is my favorite one, it's the perfect ending to boxer and also never gets old

I love Gospel as well (honestly I don't think there's a single National song from Boxer through this that I don't love) but it's not one of my favorites on Boxer.

Mr. November is my favorite National closer.

it was mine until i listened to it probably 100 times tbh, its lost some of its initial raw appeal.

i don't really care for runaway, that's probably the only one from their last 3 albums

What Runaway is amazing! :-[

I'm biased though because HV is my favorite National and in my top 5, maybe even top 3 albums ever.

My current ranking of their last 4 albums

HV, Boxer, Alligator, TWFM

The others always change but HV has always remained number 1

Gospel is great because it's arguably the most unfiltered Berninger we've ever heard, just totally at peace and content with no wit or nastiness to it

"Sea of Love" and "Heavenfaced" are amazing songs.

Weakest for me is I Should Live in Salt. Still a brilliant song though

"I Should Live in Salt" is just plain weird. It's one of their weaker songs.

The first time I heard it I thought it was strange. The vocal register is pretty unusual for Matt. But now I love it.

Heavenfaced is by far the weakest song here
I personally love I Should Live in Salt but I could see how others dislike it

Heavenfaced is one of the stronger tracks here for me esp coming after Sea of Love.

I agree, lyrically it is perfect. Something about it though, I am not so sure about it. I still love the track.
