I initially had this at a 4 too when I first heard it; slowly worked its way to a 5 since the songs are so infectious. Haven't heard this in a long time but I imagine I'd still dig it. It's my main alt-rock jam. Always wished "Breaking" was on this record too though.

@Dewinged, to me, A New Surrender is basically "Feel Good Drag," "Breaking," and "The Resistence," with the rest of the album being totally underwhelming.

Vital had some catchy tunes but the production of that record killed it for me. Sounded horrific. This is the only Anberlin album I really really like.
