I hate metalcore mostly because of the "emo" vocals here and there.
However, I have listened to "Throne" before and enjoyed it, now "Mantra" got me really excited to listen more of the band's backlod and hyped for the LP. The Riff is great, great rock arena vibe, I still don't like the emo vocals on the bridge but damm the chorus is really catchy

Yeah---Mantra kicks ass
Album is going to be tremendous

True Friends is probably the WORST song here. Best songs by far are Doomed and Drown.

There's like 2-3 solid songs off this and the rest is just a complete bore.

Lol. Ok then.
Agree that Oh No. Follow You isn’t that bad. Sort of rests in the middle of a song ranking of this album.

Yeah because IQ equivalency and enjoyment of something you don't like go hand in hand, sound logic.
Both of those tracks are solid I don't think anything dips below 3 except for True Friends because of it's overtly cliched lyricism. Whereas Oh No actually contains a fair bit of heart and emotionally charged lyricism, people just hate it because it's Bring Me the Horizon fully enveloping a pop sound.

Follow you is one of my favorites off of here lmao Oh no is good too. Worst song on this album is True Friends probably

Oh No actually cross references a fair bit of the times in their discog where Oli's lifestyle choices then are now seen as addicting habits that took him over and were only masking his inner turmoil. It's a fairly reflective song and I really don't get hating it. I could see how a song like it could become a scapegoat of hate for longtime fans angry with the change in sound. I don't listen to the 1975 so can't really draw from your reference there but I guess it sounds similar to other pop songs, which I honestly am not bothered by in the slightest. I don't get why bearing a semblance to another band makes a song bad. It's still well composed.

nothing on this remotely comes close to the disaster that was that Suicide Season Cut Up remix album...

You mention songs I definitely enjoy a fair bit but I don't really couple them to this song in particular as the vibes are all totally different. I see your point though and understand your view on it. I admit I have a bit of skepticism about the new one as well, they could easily flop and go belly up. (though in your opinion they already have haha)
