I'm not too crazy about the title track tbh, it feels pretty bloated, but One and To Live Is To Die are just perfect imo. Well crafted, building up beautifully. Yea, just some little bass would give this another dimension, that's why I'm not ashamed to like the black album, it has great bass parts

no

like not at all

adding more bass to the album won't improve poor songwriting or structure nor would it give meandering songs more direction

"Poor songwriting my ass."

Compared to a lot of other late '80s thrash, it kind of is.

Damn, never thought of songwriting as the problem here, especially compared to a lot of other late '80s thrash. Maybe a couple of the songs are a bit on the long side but still... What is it that you guys don't like?

The title track is pretty much overlong withput being interesting enough to justify its length. Some of the songs in the middle are quite good, but nothing too special -> the album tends to drag as a whole. This could benefit from trimming some fat

Yeah I'd like to hear that as well. Let me just get strapped in here.

I feel like I've said what I don't LOVE about this album like 20 times here already :-/

So close to loving it. Just needs some tweaking.

That is the lamest explanation I have ever heard. Sorry, I mean, there's nothing to sink my teeth into.

@egarran - You have probably heard the complaints a thousand times by now, bro. No bass, which is a shame because Jason's basslines are actually fucking awesome here. Lars is louder than every fucking member here and he is the least interesting part (would have been a much better album with literally anyone else). Songs like Shortest Straw get slightly repetitive and could use a bit of trimming.

Other than that, this album is pretty awesome.

Probably as lame as the title track lmao

But seriously, my explanation may be lame, but it's exactly what I think about it
