you can definitely have one that isnt unpleasant with someone who doesnt know as much about music as some of us here on sput, but it might not be the most meaningful. i.e. actually have to sugar coat your hardline positions that we throw at each other around here all time like theyre fuckin throwing knives and just not be a cunt

Definitely. Be open to offering up opinions but be reasonable. Accept that others may not be so well-informed, which is fine because you don't have to be an 'expert' (whatever that means) to have a conversation about something.
