I’ve waited quarter of a century to listen to a studio version and on first listen I can’t help but be a tad disappointed.
Typical Radiohead to fuck about with what was one of the best tunes they’ve ever written.

One of the band albums of all time

that new Like Spinning Plates vers just kinda made it more conventional, bring back the squirty buzzy synth noise, close the damn piano lid lol

packt - pretty good but would be a lowlight on kid a
pyramid song - excellent, a classic
pulk/pull - useless, skip
you and whose army - nice climax, but kinda feels like a "middle of the pack Hail to the Thief" song
I might be wrong - pretty boring
knives out - quite good. maybe a little boring
morning bell - good, but not as good as the Kid A one
dollars and cents - complete nothing, skip
hunting bears - skip
like spinning plates - cool but overrated imho
life in a glass house - like it way less than I used to, kind of feels silly to me now, but a good song withal

tbf my 5 of Kid A prob an overrate but still, that album to me is more than the sum of its excelente parts whereas this album feels kinda like just a bunch of parts (prob an argument in its favor for some?) and I only really like 1/3 of them. a few of the songs have the least dynamism (?) of like any 'head (dollars and cents, hunting bears, I might be wrong even knives out) until the lame King of Limbs

Computer, Kid A, Bends and Rainbows are the classics - all the rest sounds a bit pieced together from the best bits of those albums that ‘went there first’
I mean they’ve recorded copycat Pyramid Song tunes about six times since, a few Idioteque wannabes, Knives Out sounds like Paranoid Android redux. Those four albums had 90% of the original ideas.
This album has 5% of the remaining ideas, Pyramid Song being the big winner…but some are a bit average (Pulk/Pull) or just sound like a bad idea (Radiohead pink panther theme Glasshouse)

this is in fact a Top 3 Radiohead album and nobody can convince me otherwise

The Bends is so far from a classic
It's just Pablo Honey with better song writing

I'm sure it was absolutely
"Knives Out sounds like Paranoid Android redux"
fine
"a few of the songs have the least dynamism (?) of like any 'head (dollars and cents, hunting bears, I might be wrong even knives out)"
last page.
