They never should have gotten rid of the guitarist on this. Or maybe he just quit. Everything after this album is horrible.

I disagree pretty hard about that. Everything post Tomorrow We Die Alive is pretty good. TWDA is a pretty bad record.

I'm gonna give this a shot

Fair enough, the album after this was so bad I didn't give them the time of day anymore. I'll have to go back and listen to their newer stuff again. I felt like It's like when Chris Storey left All Shall Perish. They were never as good. I think he actually rejoined now, but I don't think they have anything new

The sci-fi aspects of Born Of Osiris on here are really appealing and well executed. I think the last few tracks are my least favorite. They seem more theatrical in atmosphere and less of the sci-fi.

Ahhhh what is going on, it's 2023 and I finally got to see these guys live, and they were...really good?
This was a guilty pleasure band when I was younger and I haven't listened much since ~2010. Mostly just this record I loved. They tried to tour here in like 2017 or so, but their bus broke down after crossing the border of Saskatchewan and they never came back since.
Sure enough they just about sold-out the venue last night, everyone was going fucking apeshit, and that was the most stage dives I've ever seen at a show. Everyone seemed really nuts that they were able to make it after all these years. Lots of stoked young people who were probably in diapers when these guys were forming...rushing the stage over and over and over and shrieking the lyrics and then diving back in. Would annoy me as an artist but they all seemed pretty jazzed over the reaction. BoO put on a good show and don't half ass anything about their stage time. Color me very pleasantly surprised!
I don't necessarily want to jam their stuff often, but it sure is bouncy and fun live. I think I expected all the electronic elements to be handled by a MacBook, but they indeed had their second vocalist playing keyboards the whole night. Good stuff.

Definitely not a huge fan of this band but Recreate is an amazing song.

How do they make such a great album like this and then forget how to songwrite right after

I’m in the minority that thinks A Higher Place is a decent album, but outside of that yeah band is mega ass. I remember reading a metalsucks interview with the band when Tosin Abasi was in the band briefly (a touring member I think), everyone in the band sounded so pretentious and dumb and couldn’t answer any question seriously, couldn’t even explain what their songs were about. Tosin said like two words the entire interview and I got the vibe it was because he really didn’t want to be next to them right then lol
