Following from that Boxer is the rude awakening of suddenly realizing that your childhood is actually over and High Violet is actually coping with being an adult.

If I'm being completely honest they're my favorite artist, I've always considered Radiohead my favorite because I have more albums by them rated high and they were instrumental in getting me into music, but for the past few years I've listened to The National way more than them. I guess they're just more emotionally in line with where I am in life right now.

Same for me...and the highlights aren't quite as strong as on the later albums for me either. Still a solid 4.

Abel and Mr. November are pretty much the best The National songs, but w/e.

If Abel and November are your favourite National it does make me feel there's a band out there who do that sort of stuff all the time and probably better than these :/

Good songs but like top 60 tracks only for me

To me it's like someone saying 'man, my favourite Metallica are 'Nothing Else Matters' and 'Mama Said' lol

I find it a tiny bit perverse but I sort of get it

That's one of the weaker ones for me. The lyrics are pretty good though.
