@twlichty great word to describe it. Super punchy, my personal favourite. It takes a young band to produce that level of intensity. They haven't been able to come close since except maybe a few bits from the S/T.

Deftones knew that the solution to nu-metal was becoming post-metal, but apparently the rest of the bands were stuck in the "jump da fuck up" songs.

Fireal sure, I'm a sucker for Minus Blindfold's outro, (One Week ,Nosebleed, Lifter, Root) - a power quartet and its where the album's ID resides, Birthmark...ppl got to blinded on the singles imo, and sure, as mentioned, it is different from any Deftones.

Fireal is one of their best songs, to me that song was the first sign that this band had more going on than first glance. More ambition, experimentation etc

Every thing aside from Passenger didn't do much for me. Band isn't for me lol.

"Fireal is one of their best songs, to me that song was the first sign that this band had more going on than first glance. More ambition, experimentation etc" I get that, what everyone seems to be missing, out here on sput, is that there's absolutely no album, from Deftones or any other band, that sounds like Adrenaline. (if there is, care to rec)

Fuck Knife Party, Pink Maggit is best here

I mean i'd pretty much agree with any except mini maggit Rx and teenager

Mini Maggit is nothing more than a mistake, the band has been making that statement for a while now

I prefer Mini Maggot as an opener rather than Feiticeira. The latter always seemed really awkward and dull as an opener to me, especially compared to a lot of the band's other openers like Hole in the Earth and My Own Summer

Instrumentation is great, but the rapping vox and the butchered chorus wrecks any hope for me to like it, the result is a travesty

And let's not even talk about that cringe video, it's literally them selling out

Yeah but wasn't that more down to label pressure than anything else?

Back to School is great and the fact that it gets reprise in Pink Maggot is soooo awesome.

"the fact that it gets reprise in Pink Maggot is soooo awesome."
That's the big reason why I prefer it to Feiticeira as an opener. I like it when the bookends compliment each other like that
