Can't wait for the opportunity to see another show. They make the studio recordings feel like demos

Lex's antics on stage (and in the crowd) alone are worth going to a Daughters show.

"Lex's antics on stage (and in the crowd) alone are worth going to a Daughters show."
or watching Nick Sadler playing sick shit like the solo on the Lord's Song
|
| |
Always try to post up in front of Sadler at the shows. Lex’ll find his way to you eventually

Sadler is pretty underrated. Plays some awesome hypnotic riffs on here and slays in hell songs/self titled.

[2] Sadler's harrowing guitar tone is what makes this band so distinct.

These songs sound 100% better live and I adore this album to begin with

I love that the hype train is back in town

That train still pulls up to the station with regularity. Fucking masterpiece no doubt.
Hope Lex is doing alright

What are some other bands I might like if I like this? I don't know much about hard rock/industrial

The Talkies, old Swans (check Filth), Lightning Bolt maybe
But honestly I’ve never found anything that really hits the same way these guys do. Oh also check out Chat Pile, they have a couple cool EPs that are kinda similar
|
| |
Not too much directly comparable to this tbh, Daughters have really hit on something unique in the noise rock sense.
If you’re looking for a bunch of crazy guitar noise with vocals a fair bit more compelling than straight along shouting, Tropical Fuck Storm’s Laughing Death record kicks all kinds of ass, but it sounds nothing like this. Even other Daughters records are pretty far removed (still wicked, though)
Edit to butt - Going to Swans from here, Children of God’s probably a safer bet than jumping straight into the earliest stuff

Fair, I’ve never listened to Children of God because (like most of their albums) the runtime gives scares me away. I should probably get around to that
|

That one in particular flies by. Brilliant track listing too, whole thing flows so nicely.

Alright thanks butt I’ll check out Children of God
