"Imagine batting that hard for scenecore 101 and being that concerned with being typecast for rym of all things"
If I'm "typecast for rym" then I revoke my right to have an opinion about anything they do (dogpiling albums solely to lower the average, etc.) because I'd be seen as "just like them."

Is there some kind of issue behind the issue here, or do you really just hate aggregation sites that much
@norma Get back in the hive you minx
Will maybe check this at some point in time soon. Have never rly needed individual character from progpeth (thought the appeal was just them having fun with a decent set of influences) but um um um okay!!!

Yeah the issue is stuff like Life Is But a Dream gets shoved below 3 solely by way of being by a "not rym approved" band when you know damn well if it was released by some band like black midi it'd be in the top 100 of all time

Take hotter than the weather: Sput’s Top 100 is worse than RYM’s top 100

Sput isnt overrating whatever the hell that black country new road band did after for the first time so

Sput's top 100 is probably terrible
Rym's top 100 is fucking boring
Rym charts are far more useful than sput charts, but jfc I am sick of the recency bias in any area of music where their cloistered zoomer userbase has no grip or significant interest in the original thang. Like, no honey I did not come to browse ur disco chart just to see that Jessie Ware has the 2nd highest rated record of all time
Shudder to think of the shape of their post punk chart
"Sput isnt overrating whatever the hell that black country new road band did after for the first time so"
rly hate to pick you up on that one, but sput has very much walked that walk you have no idea how hard i had to filibuster in the staff year list

you realize youre talking about band avenged sevenfold right? i love them but theyre definitely not the definition of universally loved. and a new album from them isnt suddenly gonna turn around the majority of people who dislike them on forums like that.

ants from up there has a 3.9, which is pretty standard for "well received album" here, it's not getting a 4.4+
the stage has a 3.3-something, i think they were just about on their way to getting there based on that but once Fantano gave it a 3/10 people went out of their way to drop it to a 2.86 and then going.

this is def the most annoying thing about rym. or that tyler the creator and kendrick made half of the top 10 hip hop and soul albums of all time. just gotta specify the time frame to be correct. also did they ever add that esoteric feature to the public yet?
|
| |
dude it's avenged sevenfold what are you not understanding. they're not the most mass appealing band especially to music nerds. why do you care or want them to be that band anyways if you hate the site's top 100 anyways?

it's just unfathomably annoying, i'll get caught in the hype wave of something that's "#1 for the year" there and it ends up making me feel out of touch with what "the musical elite" herald as the greatest of all time.

Must feel nice having the biggest concern of your life being the avg rating between two different bands
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
It's hardly the biggest concern. It's just something that annoys me. You KNOW if they were an rym approved band it would be bolded. if it was black midi's emotionally hollow "prog" it'd be loved. but I know if I had the same 5's as everyone there then I'd revoke my right to speak on that.

i dont think your high ratings here really display a similarity with them anyways so win i guess? just listen to the music and log off of the website if you care that much

hell yh, searching by timeframe and genre crossovers is my fav - and i think i remember using it, so maybe? or maybe getting confused with the out of ur ballpark option on individual recs, but know what u mean

esoteric feature is great tbh, i like looking for bizarre genre combos mixing stuff I like together. there's a lot with only 10-20 ratings.
