I love that post metaly buildup in the beginning though

I've tried a gazillion times, but I just can't get into this band whatsoever. I don't think their music is bad per se, I just don't like the way it all sounds. It's just...unpleasant. The vocals really kill everything for me, but I can't really place why that is.

Chino can make me float here forever. I don't think there's ever a dull time to jam Tones, quite frankly.

i don't really get either why the vocals get so much hate from people who otherwise enjoy the music

He has one of the best sounding voices I've heard from WP onward. With the exception of the s/t honestly.

Hexagram and minerva are pretty epic though.

I love Minvera but I feel like everyone collectively didn't have their head in the game for that album. Abe and Chino themselves have said that as well.

Agreed. Im just speaking about Chino's vocals on S/t, as you said it was a bit of an exception.

It's got some amazing songs but overall just doesn't do it for me. Only album of theirs that's like that.

Try Digital Bath, Entombed, Sextape, Xerces and Hole In The Earth. If you don't dig those then sorry I can't help you. Guess they're just not for you.

S/t is one of their best really. I'll take that over AtF any day, I don't care what anyone or the band themselves say.

Nor do I. I'm just saying the band would also agree that it wasn't their best effort.

People dissing s/t in a KNY thread lol

Just don't see how that would be better than this. Don't love Chino's voice as a whole nor do I anyone else on that one and it's pretty unfocused unlike this one. Say what you want, but this flows seamlessly.

"Nor do I. I'm just saying the band would also agree that it wasn't their best effort."
Does it have to be? =) They've stated that they in some ways consider AtF their best work, which I definitely don't agree with, hence my previous statement. AtF is just a tad too one-dimensional to be that. From WP and onward is where it's at. Less aggression perhaps but more varied and rewarding.

Yea WP onward is amazing. I mean SNW is also unfocused as wel but the songs are more often than not mind blowing and the production and effects are stellar.

Agreed. That album surprises me every now and then. Just when you think you know the songs and your favs, then after a period time when relistening to it other tracks reveal themselves in new ways. That's what I like about SNW.

Swerve City is so underrated. So Simple, yet such a soaring track for what it is.
