It’s not awesome for me, who’s deaf in one ear and more sensitive to sounds like that haha

But more so than the title track, I have a strong appreciation for The Seer Returns and Mother Of The World now they fucking rule

Filth is a tough place to start in these "modern times". I would go with the Seer or Father Will Guide Me

Yeah, I tried to get into Swans a few times ...

One late night I put on Filth, then Cop, then skipped up to Children of God (entirely based on the album art change lol) - and it definitely took some work those first two hours, but by the time Jarboe's voice kicks in on track 2, I was hooked.

(I also get next to nothing out of reunion Swans, so that's my problem...)

Also Swans Are Dead is a freaking great set that I just discovered these last few weeks.

Honestly, this is the only Swans album I'll swear by. My Father is hit or miss and To Be Kind is waaayyy overrated (it's like the Seer but less menacing and without the creepy parts). I can't remember a single thing about The Glowing Man or Leaving Meaning. I've tried to get into their older catalog and while it seems like it's much better than most of their comeback material, I usually just find myself turning it off and going back to The Seer.

I agree about To Be Kind, although there are flashes of genius on that record it is much too plodding and nonsense filled (along with Glowing Man). I have to admit that Leaving Meaning was sweet spot for me when it came out, I found I enjoyed that one quite a bit.

Ryus, I can definitely see where you are coming from, but for some reason on The Seer is wonderful to me

Sowing at the very least you need to make it through FILTH.

Can we take a second and admire how chill inducing Avatar is?? That's like a top Swans song.

I think this and To Be Kind are kinda cute and fluffy. Gotta check the last 2 tho.
