I wonder if the members are on good terms with each other.

I'm still pissed about Palms not being ISIS 2.0 but more like Deftones 2.0

“I wonder if the members are on good terms with each other.“
The impression I got from interviews at the time was that it was Mike and Aaron who had the most friction, with the others mostly chill, but I’m no authority and they all seem like pretty private guys

Imagine not wearing your dope ISIS sweater because.... someone's gonna yell at you? Sure hope you don't own any Cannibal Corpse, Deicide or CoF merch. ecks deeeeeeeeeee

"I appreciate how this one plays with quiet textures in loud moments and vice versa instead of the formulaic crescendocore approach they’d worn out by ITAOT" (2)
I still get some enjoyment out of ITAOT but yeah there is no comparison. Nice succinct nailing of this beauty's broad appeal right here

"Wrists of Kings" is a nigh perfect track, yes. Love the drum intro build into the softer verse. Though "Dulcinea" is also an amazing jam. And "Holy Tears"... Okay, maybe I just love ITAOT a lot. But this one still ekes out an overall win over ITAOT any day.

ITAOT highlights are mostly the subtle tracks with the most evasive dynamics (Over Root and Thorn, Firdous E Bareen), but there aren't enough of em to go around :/
Holy Tears rly do be the most basic bitch version of ISIS done phenomenally well though
