Yeah I'm really not understanding their logic. SJ was "busy" by the same terms, but they loved it. I guessed 8.8

MPP ends stronger than CHz, but CHz overall is just a better, more impactful album.

Animal Collective is very inconsistent with me...sometimes their stuff hits me just the right way and other times I wonder what the fuck I'm listening to. CHz didn't do it for me, I thought Merriweather was decent but way overhyped, and Fall Be Kind actually was the work that blew me away the most. Feels is really good too, obviously.

CHz falls under both categories in my book, and that's why i love it.

here's the thing with FBK; at first, i thought the same thing. but then i realized that, without What Would I Want? Sky, it would be just as disjointed as Water Curses. that one track is kinda holding up that entire release.

Feels is wonderful, yeah.

CHz is their most accessible work to date. Busy album =/= challenging album.

I don't know about that...I mean accessibility is defined differently by every listener, but I can't imagine how CHz is easier to get into than, say, MPP or FBK.

some of the melodies on CHz are among the poppiest and catchiest they've ever written. it's like, if you stripped away all the interesting aspects of Moonjock, it could pass for a passion pit or MGMT song.
