the folk ones are simultaneously taylor's best and worst work
best because the writing came together quite well, worst because taylor's voice is far too plain and subdued to keep my attention (the bon iver feature is my biggest takeaway)

I’ve always subscribed to the idea that LOVER would be a very good, borderline great 11-track pop album. It has a decent handful of stinkers, filler, or songs that otherwise wouldn’t be missed. But honestly it comes with the territory. Most of her albums do. Highs vs. highs, though, LOVER’s best tunes slightly edge out those on 1898 (for me personally, obviously). “All You Had to Do Was Stay” might be her single best track though. Idk. Maybe “Cornelia Street” actually.

funny how I’d always known this lass for Call Me Maybe (ugh!) and I Really Like You (slightly less ugh, but it gets old!) and they currently stand as her weakest “known” singles (known by me). I’ve certainly heard Your Type before and it bangs and there are other solid and familiar additions here
