And yet you wrote a post about him. It's like looking at a 12 year old school bully trying to impress the adults.

"And he's a greedy idiot."
Lars was right about Napster, if that's what you're implying. I don't know why that's still a debate.

I always supported Metallica's decision to fight Napster as i think most people agreed that piracy is just wrong. What most people didn't like was that this band was Metallica. Dudes have already a bunch of money and so forth. But i always say, no matter how much money you make you still have the right to pursue those who "vandalise" your music and profit from your own work.

"Co-lead songwriter on 3 of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time"
That's always been a great rebuttal too. I never understand why people don't bring up Lars' songwriting abilities in conversations regarding his place in the band. His drumming may not be the best in the world, but the songwriting team of James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich is practically the Lennon/McCartney of metal

lol Meshuggah called "One" the first djent song so that is why i said that
imo i think that distinction goes to "Live In A Hole" by Pantera

Vulgar Display Of Power is definitely seminal djent in several places. Dunno about One tho, but Meshuggah know.

I think Meshuggah have earned the right to define what djent is lol, but I can definitely see how the heavy breakdown(?) riff (DARKNESS, IMPRISONING ME) bears similarity to some of the DEI stuff. Though 'shuggah are well known huge Metallica fanboys so the comparison may be rose-tinted.
On a similar note, Mikael Akerfeldt said that without To Live is to Die, Opeth would never have existed. So there we go - this album heavily inspired two of the greatest prog bands of all time, and anytime you mentioned it all anyone will ever say is "ummm where's the bass hurrdurr?". Criminal.

The ""breakdown"" on One sounds a bit more like deathcore than djent imo

I’ve always considered AJFA to be the first groove metal album. A lot of it is midpaced and very groovy. The bridge to Blackened and the main riff of Shortest Straw remind me a lot of groove metal.

It's in the eye of the beholder, but yeah. I feel it somewhat in Harvester, Straw and Frayed.
