thanks for reminding me to 2.5 this (reasons not the same as the review), I just think MF Doom lacks a certain kind charisma that I look for in hip hop, this has never resonated with me in any way, instrumentals are cool I guess, but never done anything for me either, like that J Dilla Donuts album, mid.

what kind of stuff do you like more? There's "charisma" as a conventional charm-shine, and then there's "charisma" as "this guy is so good at his job that I like him," to me, and DOOM definitely makes me think "damn what a funny and smart person" all the time

I don't like upbeat hip hop, I just find it corny 90% of the time. It's best in a more dramatic approach, which is a tone this album rarely touches.
One more time to show what an absolute fucking fuckmon Tundra is and to point out that Drifter rec'd him an album a while ago and he turned it off after one track (Last FM confirmed) and threw a 2 on it and said the exact same thing lmao. Dude probably did the same with this. He's a pure clown. Probably lives life with the big red nose and everything.

hmm yes we all know this is certainly a take (even me) but can someone with greater knowledge than myself (not hard) confirm / deny that this is a horrendous take for THIS ALBUM, even if we ignore the general point about hip-hop overall?
to be fair the more I read it, the less I understand, lol... I mean 'dramatic' can mean a number of things. This certainly has a touch of drama in its thicc atmosphere to me tho and I wouldn't describe it as particularly 'upbeat' either
