It's funny, I thought of Jesse as being part of the Morrissey-esque brand of Guys who had romantic trouble, but were generally quite earnest and charming people who were sort of headed in the right direction, maybe progressive, but even Morrrissey himself recently came out and defended Kevin Spacey for trying to literally molest a young boy. I guess there probably is no real or true Mr Nice Guy and all, but they just didn't seem like they'd be that predatory or remotely the type to be OK with the underage thing.
I thought Jesse would have been the type to fight against or call out this type of shit, not the person who was actually doing it

I think it all comes to recognizing that we don't know or understand these people, any of them. There isn't one of these singers that we truly know personally. Sometimes they sing about things that we can understand or relate to, but we don't know them. We shouldn't feel betrayed by this in the first place because we had no personal stake in his life, as little as we had in his

Yeah I just enjoyed thinking "here is a Man with a poetic sense, who I can trust is at least somewhat of a decent Guy, in a World full of sick evil shit".
I know it was probably immature and delusional to elevate like that anyway. I can't revere myself, because I contemplate murder way too often and shit. I mean I'll probably not do it, but I am some kind of stupid psycho and it's pretty gay

he was never a hero to me tbh, but I see why a lot of people identified with him
he's built his career on that kind of devotion, so its hardly surprising that people have a personal stake in Morrissey's music.

This is gonna sound like a dumb tie in, but that's kinda what the song "No Friend" by Paramore kinda made me realize
When they say "I'm no savior of yours, and you're no friend of mine" they're talking to their fans. They haven't rescued us personally and we don't even know them. It's kinda cynical and sad way of putting git but they're completely right

i wouldn't say i have a 'hero' or had one. but i was cool with the idea of an artist having status and representing the idea that shit can be dark and sad without having to mean doing fucked up shit. i guess it was naive, jesse wrote some seriously troubled shit, i guess he felt guilty and shame and whatever.

Which I why I don't really understand giving this a 1 lol sorry to bring this back up
This, Daisy, TDAG, the majority of his shit is all about the guilt he's feeling for being such a motherfucking asshole. It doesn't make him less of an asshole, but it's remorseful art nonetheless

I suppose that's fair man, just a difference of opinion. I think that, even given everything that happened, I still get something out of this.
Maybe more now than I did before

I condoned hurting Jesse before, but at this point I regret that and think it was wrong. He has a Wife and Kids now and probably can find retribution. If he had a son, he should make sure his Son doesn't make the same mistake. I'd be a pretty demonic Guy to wish his soul doesn't find peace some day.

Agreed, and I think that his music was a part of that journey.
We already knew we were hearing someone lament their sins, the only difference now is that we know what they are

"If only he'd discovered NoFap when he was 16"
sounds like a good opportunity for some first class Sput fan fic.

Jesse was browsing through his old Morrissey interviews, when he found one labelled with a strange label. 'Supaduck0 future advice label'
It was VHS tape where Morrissey spoke about being from the future, and how a man using something called the "internet" was speaking to Jesse in 1995, using Morrissey as his telepathic messenger. He went into long detail about how Jesse had a terrible fate to avoid, and could do so and become instead of a depressing musician, the sequel to Third Eye Blind, except even poppier, simply by refraining from masturbation.
Jesse grinned. It linked up with his Christian ideals perfectly. "Thanks, Supaduck-0. Whoever the hell you are". He heard his doorbell and saw a familiar face, his old buddy John Nolan

"Thanks Supaduck-0. Whoever the hell you are"
Man that is so what young Jesse would say though. All fresh faced and boyish like an Archie comics strip and shit

"Jesus Christ that's a pretty face, I really do hope that this one's underage..."
"...You know I'm cummin' on Skype like a creep..."
