Kiwi no. No clear identity? Heritage? Did we listen to the same album?

"Say what now? Comfortably the worst of the bunch, no clear identity. Doesn't know what it wants to be."
Glad someone agrees
"Pale Communion is the measuring stick for new Opeth."
Aaaaaaand now I don't agree at all

As far as I'm concerned, In Cauda Venenum is where it's at in regards to post-Watershed Opeth

I kinda agree with Koris here for progrockpeth In Caude feels like the culmination of all the attempts at it and nailing that old opeth atmopshere. I do need to relisten to heritage though

ICV is super good, but to me Heritage is on a whole other level. It's alive.

Era and title track for me,. The mix is what makes this album horrible the live versions of Sorceress and Era from Red rock sound so good

Came here to say the same. Era feels much livelier in Garden of the Titans, the bridge especially is such a rush

Speaking of the songs how they are here, I feel like A Fleeting Glance is the unsung hero. I also appreciate Seventh Sojourn because it's a cool little voyage, the vocal bit at the end is pretty.
But yeah GotT is the one I go to when I'm up for a Sorceress, Wilde Flowers or Era listen. Only downside is that the crowd cheering breaks the immersion when Wilde Flowers gets very quiet

Ridiculously underrated around these parts

The guitar solo at the end of Will o the Wisp might be one of my all-time favorite Opeth moments. The tone and bluesy touches are just incredible
