See a problem with this album is that there is no song I would envision putting in my playlists or anything, except for Song For A Warrior, which tbf is a very good song, but the rest of the album is either too long, repetitious or too meandering in some sort of way, maybe I just have to listen to it more... such a polarizing band for me currently...

this band's fans are all kinds of people tbh, but defs so pretentious chunks of their fanbase ye

if you're sticking at this, it might help if you jammed My Father... a few times - much more digestible and arguably better correlate to this vibe

Being very much a Swans newbie so take what I say with some caution but if it’s albums you want to rummage through and pilfer for playlists - then Leaving Meaning, The Great Annihilator and White Light have good bite sized songs. I have the same issue with you but it’s with Soundtracks for me, where half the tracks are a 4 and half are 2.5.

halfway through and I kinda struggle between 2.5 and 3.5. until now this was more like a noisy country album with some twists here and there

okay, to this point, the overlong duration and repetitions are getting to my head. why did they not boil this down to 45min? I kinda like the atmosphere they were going for but all the repetition is just annoying, dull and not really giving me something. and it is not like that the cool and sophisticated parts are being repeated. how this album has a 4.2 avg is beyond me. I guess after listening to this I will never bitch about 70min prog records again...

Goddamn, A Piece of the Sky is so powerful...what a song. Second disc destroys the first half.
